Features

Everything a map should do — even with the signal bars empty

Offline Maps by MAPOG rebuilds the essentials of a modern maps app on an open, offline-first stack. Here is what you get out of the box.

Truly 100% offline

Download a region once and the map, search and navigation keep working in airplane mode, underground or across the border. No signal, no problem.

Offline turn-by-turn

Driving, cycling and walking directions are computed on-device with voice guidance — no data connection and no cloud routing required.

OpenStreetMap data

Built on the world's largest open map, so you get detailed, frequently updated streets, trails, addresses and points of interest everywhere.

Free & unlimited

No subscriptions, no per-region charges, no paywalls to unlock navigation. Download as many regions as your storage allows.

Fast place search

Find places, addresses and points of interest with Photon-powered search, then hand the result straight to on-device routing.

Every platform

One app that feels native on Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and the web, so your maps come with you across every device you own.

Private by design

Your location and routes are computed on-device and never sent to our servers. Use guest mode with no account — sign-in and analytics are optional and off by default.

Crisp vector maps

Compact vector tiles stay sharp at every zoom level while using a fraction of the storage of traditional offline map downloads.

How it works

Three steps to a map that never drops out

No account gymnastics, no credits. Get set up in minutes and travel with total confidence.

  1. 01

    Download a region

Pick a city, a whole country or a hiking area and save it to your device over Wi-Fi. Compact vector tiles mean it downloads fast and stays small.

  2. 02

    Go offline

Board the plane, head into the mountains or land somewhere new without a SIM. Everything you downloaded is now on your device, ready to use.

  3. 03

    Navigate anywhere

Search for a place, tap it and get turn-by-turn directions with voice guidance — all computed locally, with no bars and no data plan needed.

Made for the real world

Wherever the signal stops, your map keeps going

Travel abroad

Land without an eSIM and still navigate to your hotel, follow the metro and find your way around town — no roaming charges, no scrambling for airport Wi-Fi.

Hiking & backcountry

Trails, contours and waypoints stay on your device deep in the mountains where cell coverage disappears completely.

Road trips

Turn-by-turn directions keep guiding you through dead zones, tunnels and remote highways without losing the route.

Off the grid

Sailing, overlanding or working somewhere remote? Your maps and search work the same whether you have five bars or none.

Platforms & stack

One app on every screen, built on an open stack

Offline Maps by MAPOG runs from a single codebase, so it looks and works the same whether you are on your phone, laptop or in a browser.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Does it really work with no internet at all?

Yes. Once you download a region, the map and turn-by-turn navigation run entirely on your device. You can put the phone in airplane mode on a mountain, at sea or in a foreign country and keep navigating. Note that place search uses an online service, so searching for a new address needs a connection.

Is Offline Maps by MAPOG free?

The app is free and region downloads are unlimited — there are no subscriptions, no per-region charges and no paywalls to unlock navigation.

Where does the map data come from?

Maps are built from OpenStreetMap, the world's largest collaborative map. That means detailed, frequently updated coverage of streets, trails, addresses and points of interest across the globe.

How much storage does an offline region use?

Maps are delivered as compact vector tiles, so a region takes a fraction of the space of traditional raster map downloads while staying crisp at every zoom level. A city typically fits in a few dozen megabytes.

Does turn-by-turn navigation work offline?

Yes. Routing is computed on-device using an embedded engine, so you get driving, cycling and walking directions with voice guidance even with no signal.

Which platforms are supported?

Offline Maps by MAPOG runs on Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and the web from a single codebase, so your maps feel at home on every device you own.

Do you track my location or sell my data?

No. Your location is processed on your device to show your position and compute routes, and is never sent to our servers. You can use the app in guest mode with no account — signing in with Google and usage analytics are optional and off by default. We don't sell or share your data. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
